| Nuwara Eliya is a mountain station at 2040 meters of altitude, in a splendid landscape. The city pretend to be particularly well-kept and neat, and the always green grass gives to the locality an aspect of "Colonial British Style." The slopes of the mountains are covered with trees kiwa (which look like the pines), the plantations of fruit trees are also numerous. Today a busy town and trading center for vegetable produce, Nuwara Eliya attracts tourists to his cool heights for a number of reasons- chiefly, its tea. |
